Mail Forwarding Service

Information on obtaining a Delaware or Nevada address your company can use for receipt of business and personal mail.

Serving your needs in Delaware and Nevada

If you incorporate your company in Delaware or Nevada but don’t have a physical address there, Mail Forwarding Service is a quick and confidential way to receive your personal and business mail.

Why it’s important

Mail Forwarding Service can help you gain peace of mind and avoid the worry of missing an important document or piece of vital business correspondence.

It’s important to differentiate Mail Forwarding Service from Registered Agent Service:

  • Mail Forwarding Service. Use this service for receipt and forwarding of business and personal correspondence, such as small packages and letters. Mail Forwarding Service is a quick and confidential way to receive your personal and business mail.
  • Registered Agent Service. Use this service for receipt and forwarding of legal and state correspondence, such as Service of Process and state tax documents. It is a state requirement for corporations (C corporations, S corporations and nonprofits), LLCs, LLPs and LPs to maintain a registered agent in their state of incorporation.

Do I need mail forwarding?

Business owners who are not physically located in Delaware often are in need of an address in the State of Delaware to list as their business address. With the mail forwarding service, you are provided a physical street address (not a P.O. Box) in Delaware. The mail received for your company is then forwarded to you at the address you designate.

Mail forwarding service providers are available to customers located in and outside of the United States. You select how often you would like your mail forwarded (for example, weekly, monthly or as mail is received). You pay an annual fee for this service, and also must pay the cost of each forward. Keep in mind, the United States Postal Service (USPS) requires that all mail forwarding customers complete USPS Form 1583 and provide two valid forms of identification, one of which must include a photograph. Mail forwarding customers must provide these directly to their mail forwarding service provider.

Key Benefits

If you’re often on-the-go or do not live in Delaware or Nevada, Mail Forwarding Service allows you to have a business address in one of those states and have the mail your company receives forwarded to you.

Keep in Mind

Because of the importance of documents received by a company’s registered agent, Mail Forwarding Service does not include receipt of the materials sent to the registered agent. The registered agent is responsible for receipt and proper handling of important legal, tax, and state documents.
