Employers in Alaska are subject to these state rules that restrict firing employees under certain circumstances.

Alaska laws make it unlawful for an employer to:

  • require employees to take polygraph tests
  • fail to allow time off to vote
  • deny equal employment opportunity
  • retaliate against an employee who files a safety, wage, or equal employment opportunity complaint
  • retaliate against an employee whose wages are withheld for child support
