New Hampshire Rules for Employing Minors

Employers in New Hampshire must conform with these state rules relating to the employment of minors.

In New Hampshire, a minor under 16 years of age is not permitted to work without an employment certificate except for the following exceptions:

  • for the minor's parents, grandparents or guardian;
  • as farm labor; or
  • as casual labor.
