Wyoming Rules for Employing Minors
Employers in Wyoming must conform with these state rules relating to the employment of minors.
In Wyoming, work permits are not required.
However, to ensure that a child is of proper age to be employed, employers of minors under the age of 16 must procure a form of proof of age, and keep it on file where the child is employed.
The proof of age must be made available for inspection by any official charged with the enforcement of laws regulating the employment of minors. The acceptable forms of proof of age include the following:
- a duly attested birth certificate;
- a properly prepared Form I-9 showing the age of the child; or
- any other document showing the age of the child as approved by the Department of Employment.
