Employers in North Carolina must conform with these state rules relating to wage and hour recordkeeping requirements.

Employers in North Carolina subject to the minimum wage law must make, keep and preserve records of employees' ages, wages, hours and other conditions and practices of employment as prescribed by the Commissioner of Labor.

The law does not require employers to keep records for exempt employees.
