Employers in North Carolina must comply with these state rules regarding the timing and frequency of wage payments.

In North Carolina, paydays may be daily, weekly, biweekly, semimonthly or monthly on regular paydays designated in advance by the employer.

The employee must receive on the current payday all wages accruing to him or her as of the preceding pay period.
