Employers in New Jersey are subject to the following state disability insurance tax rules.

Coverage: Any business paying employee compensation of at least $1,000 in either the current or preceding calendar year

Employer Tax Rate: Employers pay rates under Table E beginning July 1, 2012

Withholding Rate: Employee tax is 0.36% for 2013 (0.2% for 2012); workers pay a rate of 0.10% to cover Family Leave Insurance (0.08% for 2012)/p>

Taxable Wage Base: $30,900 for 2013 ($30,300 for 2012)
