Entrepreneurs filing a business in the current economy are fully aware of the various difficulties in accessing credit, finding appropriate talent, generating sales and meeting expansion goals.
To help drive activity in these areas, many small businesses and entrepreneurs are looking to marketing and advertising to help attract new customers and reach new demographics.
For that reason, it is not surprising that a recent study by The Creative Group found a substantial number of marketing and advertising executives are planning to hire in coming months. The Hiring Index for Marketing and Advertising Professionals found a net 19 percent of survey respondents plan to add marketing staff in the third quarter, up from 16 percent last quarter.
"As the economy continues to improve, companies are expanding their service offerings and revitalizing their brand identities," said The Creative Group executive director Donna Farrugia. "This is creating demand for professionals who can not only steer and manage overall brand strategy, but also bring ideas to life via online and traditional advertising."
Other recent surveys from CNN, Manta and General Electric have shown businesses plan to hire in coming months, but official data from the U.S. Labor Department has been less enthusiastic, noting the addition of just 54,000 jobs in May.
