Entrepreneurs forming a corporation in today’s climate are more entrenched in social media than ever before, according to a small business survey conducted by the Deluxe Corporation.
The survey, which was assembled from responses of 500 entrepreneurs and small business owners and was completed through PartnerUp, found a staggering 83 percent of respondents planning to use various social media outlets in the next year in an effort to improve the visibility of their businesses.
Small business owners who listed reaching potential customers with limited funds available made up 49 percent of respondents.
Other parts of the survey touched on what motivates various entrepreneurs to form a company and how they started the process. A minuscule 10 percent stated they started their business as the result of being laid off from a previous job, while 75 percent stated they started their business as a pursuit of passion.
In conjunction with the survey, Deluxe mentored nine entrepreneurs from across the U.S. in a year-long marketing program designed to help them improve their businesses.
