A new cloud-based marketing service has been made available to small business owners in an attempt to attract customers and combat the shaky economy.Free Phone Surveys is taking a different approach to the "marketing through social media" craze by bringing telephones into the mix.
Small business owners will record a customer survey question and offer a deal, or other incentive, for answering the question. This can be done via Twitter or Facebook. The customer will then receive a text message with the special offer.
"Getting customers to initially follow you on social media is relatively easy," said Dorsey West, founder of Free Phone Surveys. "Our goal is to make that social networking relationship valuable for both the client and the business — otherwise it's a waste of everyone's time and won't last very long."
