Arkansas Laws Relating to Workplace Violence

A summary of Arkansas laws relating to weapons and conduct that impact workplace violence.

It is unlawful to carry a gun, knife or club concealed on one's person without a license to carry a concealed weapon or in a vehicle. However, the prohibition does not apply when one is in his or her own dwelling, place of business, on property in which the person has a possessory or proprietary interest, or in a motor vehicle if the person has a license to carry a concealed weapon.

Concealed weapons may not be carried:

  • into establishments that sell alcoholic beverages
  • into publicly owned buildings or facilities or on state capitol grounds

The prohibition extends to parks, football fields, baseball fields, soccer fields and other municipally owned or maintained recreational structures or property. This prohibition applies even if the person has a license to carry a concealed weapon.
