One of the most important decisions a business owner will make is choosing where to run their business. The type of business you operate can limit the suitability of some options, such as running your business from home.
You're ready to get your business off the ground and now must determine where that business will be located. For some business owners, a laptop and a corner in their home is all they need. For others, choosing where to run their business is a lot more complicated. For example, employers in certain industries that may cause pollution may need to be located in certain areas with special facilities. Other businesses have employees that require space to work. And even the smallest and most low-impact businesses may be impacted by zoning laws, particularly if they operate out of their home.
Also, many business owners must revisit the topic of where to locate their business when success causes them to outgrow their home base or other humble beginnings.
