It is unlawful in Idaho to carry a concealed weapon without a license, except in one's place of abode or fixed place of business. The license requirement does not apply to a lawfully possessed shotgun or rifle.

A firearm may be concealed legally in a motor vehicle if the weapon is disassembled or unloaded.

Individuals may not carry a concealed weapon in a courthouse, juvenile detention facility, jail, public school or private school even if they have a license to carry a concealed weapon. It is unlawful for any person to carry a concealed weapon while intoxicated or under the influence of an intoxicating drink or drug.

It is also against the law for any person under the age of 21 to carry a firearm, dirk knife, bowie knife, dagger, metal knuckles or other deadly or dangerous weapon while on public or private school property or while riding school-provided transportation.
