Georgia employers must provide employees with leave for jury duty in accordance with these state rules.
Georgia law provides that it is unlawful for any employer to discharge, discipline, or otherwise penalize an employee for the reason that the employee is attending a judicial proceeding in response to a summons for jury duty, subpoena or other court order. Threats to take such action are also unlawful.
Employers may require that employees give reasonable notice of the need for jury duty leave.
An employee is entitled to be paid his or her salary while missing work to serve on jury duty.
