Meal and Break Rules in Florida

Employers in Florida must comply with these state rules relating to meals and break times.

In Florida, employers must provide minors 17 years of age or younger who work continuously for more than four hours with a meal period of at least 30 minutes.

A period of less than 30 minutes is not considered sufficient to interrupt a continuous period of work.

Special rules apply for minors employed in the entertainment industry.
