Military Duty Leave for Employees in Connecticut

Connecticut employers must provide employees with leave for military duty in accordance with these state rules.

The employer of any person in Connecticut who, as part of that person's military service, is required to attend military Reserve or National Guard meetings or drills during regular working hours must allow that person leave of absence for such purposes.

Prohibited Discrimination

An employee who is required to attend military Reserve or National Guard meetings or drills during regular working hours may not be subjected to any loss or reduction of vacation, holiday, or other employment privileges because of the employee's absence for military duty.

A member of the Connecticut National Guard ordered into active state service by the Governor is entitled to the same protections afforded to service members on federal active service by the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act and by the Service Members Civil Relief Act, except for the provisions pertaining to life insurance.
