Employers in New Jersey must comply with these state rules regarding the timing and frequency of wage payments.
In New Jersey, wages must be paid at least twice each month, on regular pay days designated in advance by the employer.
Bona fide executive, supervisory and other special classifications of employees may be paid less often than twice a month, provided that the employee is paid in full at least once a month on a regularly established schedule.
Pay periods must end 10 or fewer days before payday.
If a regular payday falls on a nonwork day, payment must be made on the immediately preceding workday, except where it is otherwise provided for in a collective bargaining agreement.
