Employers in Indiana are subject to these state rules that restrict firing employees under certain circumstances.

Indiana laws make it unlawful for an employer to:

  • fail to allow employees time off to vote
  • interfere with an employee who serves on jury duty
  • deny equal employment opportunity
  • violate protections for veterans or reservists
  • retaliate against an employee for filing a safety complaint or wage claim or for reporting violations of a law or misuses of public resources
