Employers in Oklahoma are subject to these state rules that restrict firing employees under certain circumstances.

Oklahoma laws make it unlawful for an employer to:

  • fire any employee because of jury duty
  • fail to permit time off to vote
  • deny equal employment opportunity
  • retaliate against an employee for filing a workers' compensation claim
  • fire an employee for having wages withheld for child support or for garnishment by one creditor in a year
